Abstract

This story explores the awareness and deep learning arising from the experience of having to make major alterations to my PhD thesis. I examine the still painful embodied feelings disturbed by academic writing. Written dialogue with my inner selves, who slip between present, past and future, using prose, metaphor, poetry and song helps to explicate my personal journey. Sharing the story will, I hope, provoke conversation and exploration of readers’ own experiences.
